Doha, December 04 (QNA) - Former French and Ivorian football stars Marcel Desailly and Yaya Toure praised the atmosphere of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 inside and outside the stadiums, expressing their admiration for the excitement witnessed by the World Cup matches, the impressive organization of the tournament and its ideal atmosphere suitable for families, and the various entertainment activities enjoyed by fans everywhere.

In this context, Desailly, the winner of the 1998 World Cup with the French national team, underlined the advantage of the proximity of distances between stadiums and the presence of all important landmarks in close proximity to each other, explaining that this feature has provided comfort to the players, enabled fans to attend more than one match per day during the early stages of the championship competitions, and increased their enjoyment of the exciting World Cup atmosphere in multiple places.

The former international player, in statements to the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy website, described this experience as wonderful, and said that he is very happy with the exciting matches he has seen so far and the organization is more than wonderful, confirming that without a doubt, this edition is the best of all in the history of the World Cup.

Desailly, who participated in 116 matches with his country's national team, also praised the FIFA Fan Festival at Al-Bidaa Park in Doha, which accommodates more than 40.000 fans daily, and said that he attended the opening of the festival and watched the atmosphere of fun and happiness among the fans, highlighting that the festival is equipped with wonderful facilities and equipment that spread joy and fun just like football does.

For his part, the star Yaya Toure, who participated in three editions of the World Cup with his Ivorian national team, highlighted the victory of the Saudi national team over Argentina, calling this victory the biggest surprise of the World Cup so far, adding that it was an incredible match.

He said that Herve Renard, who was his coach when he was playing for his country, succeeded in achieving a historic victory for Saudi Arabia, clarifying that at every World Cup a team of mid-level teams expresses itself strongly and leaves an unforgettable imprint, expressing his happiness with what Saudi Arabia has achieved because it is an Arab team.

The French star Marcel Desailly participated with his country's national team in the World Cup twice, namely the 1998 France World Cup, where the Roosters were crowned with after defeating the Samba Boys team with a clean hat-trick, and the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, in which the French national team said goodbye to the competition early from the group stage.

For the Ivorian star Yaya Toure, he participated with his country's national team in three consecutive editions of the World Cup, namely Germany 2006, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014, the three times the Ivorian national team participated in the World Cup. (QNA)
