Doha, November 05 (QNA) - Health sector officials have confirmed that all hospitals and health centers affiliated with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and Qatar Red Crescent Society will operate as usual during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and will provide a full range of healthcare services to patients.

The public liaison officer between the health sector and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and the head of the Higher Health Liaison Committee at the Ministry of Public Health Ali Al-Khater, said that current road closures or changes will not prevent patients from reaching hospitals, health centers or clinics, and the public health care sector will continue to provide a full range of services to patients during the World Cup with a commitment to ensure that patient care is not affected during this period.

He called on patients to carefully plan their coming routes and paths and to leave the house early to reach the medical appointment on time, especially for facilities located near the Corniche area or when visiting facilities near the stadiums that will host matches.

He explained that in the context of facilitating patients' access to health care during this period, both Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Health Care Corporation are offering more virtual appointments, where clinically appropriate, for those who wish to obtain medical advice for their outpatient appointments while they are in their homes instead of going to the hospital.

Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Health Care Corporation have significantly increased the use of telephone consultations and other virtual services since the beginning of the outbreak of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), as these virtual services have proven resounding success with high rates of patient satisfaction.

Patients can contact Nesma'ak customer service team on 16060 or the PHCC Hayyak team on 107.

Patients of Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Health Care Corporation can also request the delivery of their medicines, medical reports, medical consumables and food products to their homes through Qatar Post, in return for a fee of only QR 20, by calling 16000. (QNA)
