Zurich, November 04 (QNA) - Portugal defender Ruben Dias confirmed that his country's participation in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be different from all previous participations due to the change in the World Cup playing period from summer to winter, which witnesses greater physical readiness for players, especially since most of the strong European leagues have entered a competitive stage.
Dias said in an interview published by the official website of the International Federation (FIFA), that the World Cup remains the most important and prominent event in the history of the game and the players, and that participation in this event is a source of pride for all players, He noted that he was part of the Portugal national team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia without participating in any matches, but the matter did not diminish his pride in being in the group that defends his country's football ambitions, stressing that he will be keen to provide his best in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
He pointed out that Qatar World Cup will witness a strong competition between all the teams because they have enough time to prepare.
Dias stressed that his country has the best players in the European leagues at the present time, especially captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who is considered an exceptional player, considering that his presence in Qatar will be a catalyst for all ambitious players to achieve many successes.
The Portuguese player stated that his country's team is the best technically and skillfully team, pointing out that the players must employ these skills in order to achieve the goal of participating in the World Cup, which is winning the title.
He also stressed that the Portuguese national team will come to Doha with all its strength, ambitions, expertise and distinctive players to win the title, pointing out that it will not be easy, but this rather requires great focus. (QNA)
