Doha, November 30 (QNA) - Iran coach Carlos Queiroz bid farewell to his players following their elimination from the group stage at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Portuguese hailed Iran's efforts during the championship after a Tuesday's 0-1 loss to the US in Group B's final fixture.
Iran suffered a 2-6 rout in their first group stage game against England before achieving a deserved 2-0 victory over Wales.
Queiroz wrote on his Instagram account that he was proud of his players and once again they were great inside and outside the pitch.
It was an honor and a privilege to be part of this football family. You deserve full respect, the Portuguese added.
The Iranian Football Federation affirmed that Queiroz will leave at the end of a short-term contract signed in Sep. (QNA)
