Doha, November 20 (QNA) - US national football team Coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed the national team's readiness to play the first match against Wales tomorrow in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The World Cup kicked off today and will continue until December 18.

The US Coach said in a press conference held at the Main Media Center (MMC) of the tournament, that the Welsh national team includes distinguished players who play as a team which is something to be cautious about, despite that some do not think that it will qualify. The Coach noted that football is not determined by expectations or by opponents strength or weakness, rather it completely depends on performance on the pitch during the 90 minutes of the match, indicating that the US team is preparing to overcome the obstacle of the first match in this edition of the World Cup.

Berhalter noted that the US national team played many major matches before facing Wales, whose match is expected to be strong and exciting, noting that as a coach, he is able to make players calmer during World Cup matches.

For his part, US defender Tyler Adams said that facing Wales will be difficult, however his team will try to stop Welsh striker Gareth Bale, given that he is the greatest threat to the US national team.
On the absence of Senegalese star Sadio Mane from the World Cup, Adams said that certainly everyone is deeply saddened by the absence of this influential striker from the Senegal national team, wishing him success and a speedy return to the stadiums.

Adams pointed out that his country's national team is missing some influential players, but this will not prevent it from performing well in the World Cup, indicating that newcomers are gradually gaining experience.

The US defender stressed that he seeks to present the best possible level during tomorrow's match against Wales, noting that representing his country is a great honor for him and for all the players included in the squad.

The US national team will start its campaign in the World Cup, facing Wales tomorrow, followed by a match against England next Friday, and Iran on the 29th of the same month.
