Doha, November 20 (QNA) - Coach of Wales national football team Robert Page said that a "strong and difficult" match awaits his team against its American counterpart tomorrow, their first match in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

In a press conference held today, Page said that the Welsh team aim to win and advance in the tournament, noting that the American squad includes young players eying to make their mark during this edition of the World Cup.

Page said that the players have adapted well to the atmosphere in Qatar, as well as to the time difference, and that everything looks good.

He expressed the hope to win in tomorrow's match against the USA, noting: "The USA team has a better World Cup record than our team, but the Wales national team will work to demonstrate its capabilities through a good and distinguished performance in the first matches, which we see as very important, because winning gives the players a great moral boost to move forward on the path of victories." Captain of the Welsh national team Gareth Bale affirmed that he had reached a good level of readiness to play tomorrow's match against America and the World Cup matches in general, noting that he was suffering from an injury earlier, but he has now recovered and is in good shape.

He added that the match against the American team will not be easy, but the Welsh team will present an honorable level of performance and achieve a good result to please the Welsh fans.

Bale commended the atmosphere in Qatar, the stadiums and the facilities, noting that everyone feels high spirits for the participation in the World Cup.
