Doha Film Institute to Screen 'Made in Qatar' Films for World Cup Fans During Doha Film Experience

Doha, November 16 (QNA) - Doha Film Institute will give residents and football fans from around the world an opportunity to discover exciting voices from Qatar's vibrant film industry in the special 'Made in Qatar' showcase during the Doha Film Experience, with screenings at M7's Sky Theatre and Qatar Foundation's Al Khater House.

The screenings at M7 will be held on Nov. 25 and 26, and Dec. 2 and 3 followed by the screenings at Al Khater House in Qatar Foundation on Dec. 13, 14, 16 and 17.

The special 'Made in Qatar' Showcase, part of the Doha Film Experience, is a rich cultural tribute to the nation.

The films highlight the thriving cinematic ecosystem of the country to the world and its amazing range of talents, who stand out for their bold vision, creativity and innovative approaches to storytelling.

Fatma Hassan Alremaihi, Chief Executive Office of the Doha Film Institute, said:

'Made in Qatar' films screening at M7 include festival favourites and award-winners such as Al Sit (Sudan, Qatar/2020) by Suzannah Mirghani; Olayan (Qatar/2021) by Khalifa Al Marri; Red (Qatar/2017) by Kholood Al Ali; Elevate (Qatar/2017), directed by Hamida Issa; Under Her Skin (Qatar, France, Algeria/2020) by Meriem Mesraoua; Beit Byoot (Jordan, Qatar/2019) by Mayar Hamdan; Smicha (Qatar/2016) by Amal Al Muftah; Amer: An Arabian Legend (Qatar/2016) by Jassim Al Rumaihi; Amphitheater (Qatar/2018) by Mahdi Ali Ali; The Bleaching Syndrome (Qatar/2018) by Eiman Mirghani ; Light Sounds (Qatar/2015) by Karem Kamel; Don't Get Too Comfortable (Yemen, USA, Netherlands, Qatar, UAE/2021) by Shaima Al Tamimi; Gubgub (Qatar/2018), by Nouf Al Sulaiti and Border (Qatar/2021) by Khalifa Al Thani among others.

Taking place over four action-packed weeks, the Doha Film Experience will be held across key venues in the city including M7's Sky Theatre, Qatar Foundation's Oxygen Park, and the venues of the D'reesha Performing Arts Festival 2022, the Museum of Islamic Art, Lusail Boulevard, Heenat Salma Farm, Sikkat Wadi Msheireb and Vox Cinemas Doha Festival City.

Msheireb Properties, Qatar Foundation and Qatar Museums are the Strategic Partners of the Doha Film Experience. TikTok and Year of Culture are the Signature Partners.
