Ottawa, September 18 (QNA) - Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand met with her Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who is currently visiting Canada.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen and further develop relations between the two countries across various fields.

They also discussed the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and promoting security and stability.

Following the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the fields of defense and security between the Government of the State of Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Defense, and the Government of Canada, represented by the Canadian Commercial Corporation.
