Qatar, North Macedonia Sign MoU to Strengthen Cooperation in Labor Sector
Skopje, September 07 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Republic of North Macedonia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in the labor sector, focusing on sharing expertise to develop labor markets and improve working environments in both countries.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Qatar by HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, while North Macedonia was represented by HE Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi.
The MoU seeks to deepen cooperation between the two sides across a range of labor-related areas, while supporting efforts to develop labor legislation and strengthen labor market regulation. It also aims to promote a better working environment and improve productivity in the private sector.
To this end, the two sides will cooperate through joint initiatives, including the exchange of expertise, studies and visits in the areas of labor relations, labor inspection, and occupational safety and health. This will include preventive measures designed to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
Cooperation will also extend to the exchange of views and expertise on the development of labor-related legislation. In addition, the two sides may agree in writing to expand cooperation into other areas falling within their respective areas of competence.
To facilitate the implementation of the MoU, a joint committee will be established, comprising an equal number of representatives from both sides. The committee will be responsible for coordinating and implementing areas of cooperation, as well as planning and evaluating future cooperation programs.
It will also be tasked with interpreting the provisions of the MoU and addressing any difficulties that may arise in its implementation.
