Cairo, September 6 (QNA) - The League of Arab States has strongly condemned the Israeli attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh, including the destruction of Ghandour Hospital and the targeting of the Ministry of Finance building, considering it a blatant violation of Lebanese sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law.

In a statement issued today, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy called on the international community, particularly the United States, as the sponsor of the ceasefire agreement reached last June, to compel Israel to immediately cease these reprehensible attacks and fully comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

The Secretary-General stressed that the continuation of this aggression constitutes a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the entire region. He emphasized that targeting innocent civilians and healthcare facilities, and destroying villages and infrastructure, is unacceptable under any pretext. Furthermore, he noted that such actions reflect the occupation's lack of seriousness regarding the negotiation process and its persistent attempts to impose a new reality in southern Lebanon through the use of force and ongoing violence.

Fahmy reiterated the Arab League's full solidarity with and support for the Lebanese state in all its efforts to safeguard Lebanon's sovereignty and maintain its security and stability. (QNA)
