Ministry of Culture Concludes Participation in Moscow International Book Fair
Moscow, September 06 (QNA) - The Ministry of Culture concluded its participation on Sunday in the Moscow International Book Fair, as part of its efforts to highlight Qatar's cultural presence on the international stage and introduce Qatari intellectual production to a broad and diverse audience, reflecting Qatar's standing as an incubator for creativity and a hub for cultural and civilizational diversity.
Director of the Doha International Book Fair, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, said the ministry's pavilion at the exhibition drew large crowds, with visitors showing keen interest in the cultural and interactive experiences on display. These included interactive screens showcasing various aspects of Qatari culture, as well as a calligraphy station that offered visitors a chance to witness the aesthetics of the ancient art form and have their names written in Arabic script.
He added that the participation provided Qatari publishing houses with an important opportunity to open new horizons for cooperation and partnership with Russian publishers, particularly in translating books between Arabic and Russian. It also facilitated business meetings to explore cooperation in publishing and intellectual property rights with participating Russian and international publishing houses.
Qatar's participation falls within the framework of the Ministry of Culture's initiatives aimed at supporting Qatari publishing houses, enhancing their presence in international forums, and opening new markets for Qatari publications, thereby contributing to the development of Qatar's publishing industry and fostering cultural exchange with countries around the world.
