Nagoya-Japan, September 22 (QNA) - Mead Al Emadi Executive Director of Marketing and Commercial Operations Directorate at the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 Local Organizing Committee said that staging the promotional days at Bayt Qatar in Nagoya, Japan, forms part of the LOC’s efforts to raise awareness of the tournament and engage directly with fans with less than a year to go until tip-off.
The Local Organizing Committee of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 is organizing a series of promotional days for the tournament at Bayt Qatar in Nagoya, Japan, on the sidelines of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with the aim of introducing the upcoming tournament and highlighting Qatar’s preparations to host the global event next year.
Al Emadi said: "Staging these promotional days at Bayt Qatar provides an important opportunity to introduce fans to the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 and what awaits them during the tournament, particularly with fans and sporting delegations from across Asia currently in Nagoya."
She added that: "Through these activities, we aim to bring fans closer to the tournament and introduce them to the Qatar 2027 experience, from the competition featuring the world’s best national teams to the integrated experience awaiting fans both inside and outside the arenas."
The Executive Director of Marketing and Commercial Operations Directorate at the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 Local Organizing Committee added: "We want the fan journey to Qatar 2027 to begin before they arrive in Doha, and these activities provide an opportunity to engage directly with them and introduce them to the tournament. Displaying the Naismith Trophy at Bayt Qatar also gives visitors a special opportunity to get closer to one of the most iconic symbols of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and we look forward to continuing this engagement with fans as we approach the tournament in August 2027."
The promotional days also highlight the first tournament ticket passes, which were launched to coincide with the one-year-to-go milestone. These include the Lusail Series Pass, Final Phase Pass and Follow My Team Qatar Pass, giving fans the opportunity to secure their seats early and prepare to attend the tournament in August 2027.
Qatar will host the FIBA Basketball World Cup from Aug. 27 to Sep. 12 2027, marking the first edition of the tournament to be staged in the Middle East. A total of 32 of the world’s best national teams will compete across 92 games, all taking place in Doha. (QNA)
