Doha, September 21 (QNA) - Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) have signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration in audiovisual and digital media, scientific and academic research, and professional training.

The agreement was signed by President of QU, Dr. Omar Mohamed Al Ansari and HE CEO of QMC, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al-Thani, in the presence of several officials from both institutions.

The agreement aims to establish a long-term framework for cooperation between both institutions in fields of mutual interest.

It also seeks to support the development and recruitment of Qatari media professionals, among students and graduates, equipping them with the knowledge, experience, and skills they need to pursue careers in QMC's various media platforms.

Commenting on the agreement, President of QU, Dr. Omar Mohamed Al Ansari said, "Our collaboration with Qatar Media Corporation represents an important step toward bridging the gap between academic education and professional practice. It provides valuable opportunities for our students and graduates to develop their media skills and enhance their capabilities, preparing national talent for careers in the media sector."

For his part, HE CEO of QMC, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al-Thani said, "This agreement strengthens the mutual benefit from the capabilities of Qatar Media Corporation and Qatar University, and provides practical pathways for applying media expertise and academic knowledge to joint projects that serve the needs of the media sector."

"We look forward to this cooperation contributing to the development of areas of joint work between the two sides and translating research outputs and knowledge into media applications and practices that can be effectively applied in the workplace," His Excellency added.

The agreement includes the provision of technical consultancy in planning and developing studios and educational media infrastructure, conducting joint research projects, programs, and media events, as well as providing students with practical opportunities to participate in the production of media materials and coverage.
