Doha-New York, September 21 (QNA) - Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) announced Monday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a USD 20 billion strategic partnership, leveraging the investment capabilities of both parties across public and private markets.
The strategic partnership will initially include two areas of collaboration: a USD 15 billion public equities portfolio designed to support QIA's long-term investment objectives, and a USD 5 billion private markets investment initiative focused on supporting middle-market companies in the United States.
Under the public equities portfolio, J.P. Morgan Asset Management will manage customized global equity portfolios for QIA, drawing on its leading active equity capabilities, global investment platform and extensive research resources.
Through the private markets investment initiative strategy, QIA and J.P. Morgan Asset Management will provide financing to middle-market companies in the United States across sectors, with a focus on industrials, services, healthcare and technology.
The partnership has been designed as a mutually beneficial framework that brings together QIA's long-term institutional perspective and J.P. Morgan Asset Management's globally leading investment expertise.
The strategic partnership is expected to play an important role in enhancing both parties' ability to capitalize on global investment opportunities and deliver sustainable long-term value.
In this context, CEO of QIA, Mohammed Saif Al Sowaidi, stressed the importance of expanding the partnership with J.P. Morgan Asset Management and gaining access to one of the world's leading global platforms specializing in equities and private credit.
He said the partnership will represent an important step toward exploring new opportunities for both parties to generate long-term value through ongoing investment dialogue, joint programs and the direct exchange of ideas.
