Ankara, September 21 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale struck on Monday the Saimbeyli district of Adana province, southern Turkiye, with tremors felt across several neighboring provinces. No damage has been reported so far.
According to data from Turkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the earthquake occurred at 4:02 a.m. local time at a depth of 7 kilometers. The tremors were felt in the provinces of Kahramanmaras, Osmaniye, Kayseri, and Gaziantep.
AFAD confirmed that no adverse effects have been reported so far, noting that field surveys are ongoing to assess the impact of the earthquake.
In 2023, a devastating earthquake struck southeastern Turkiye, resulting in the deaths of more than 53,000 people and the destruction of several cities in the region. (QNA)
