Kuwait, September 16 (QNA) - Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned and strongly denounced an attempt to target Makkah Al Mukarramah with a drone launched by the Houthi group, affirming that the cowardly and disgraceful act constitutes an assault on the sanctity of the Muslims' qiblah, a disregard for its religious significance and an offense to the sentiments of Muslims.

In a statement today, the ministry affirmed Kuwait's absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures the kingdom takes to safeguard its sovereignty and security, protect the Two Holy Mosques and preserve their sanctity. It commended the vigilance and efficiency of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces in thwarting the attempt, stressing that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the other Gulf Cooperation Council states.
