Minister of Public Health, QBA Discuss Strengthening Partnership with Private Sector in Healthcare Delivery
Doha, September 15 (QNA) - HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud met with representatives of the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA), led by HE QBA Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, along with representatives of the private health sector.
The meeting addressed a number of topics aimed at strengthening the partnership between the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the private sector, in addition to increasing the private sector's participation in delivering high-quality healthcare services in the State of Qatar.
The meeting reflects the MoPH's commitment to strengthening the private health sector, overcoming the challenges it faces, and increasing its participation in healthcare delivery, the development of medical tourism, and capacity-building in long-term specialized fields - such as precision medicine - in alignment with Qatar's Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030.
The meeting also showcased the MoPH's vision and strategic plans to advance the health sector, along with key priority health projects leading up to 2030. Additionally, it addressed updates regarding the health insurance system and the streamlining of licensing procedures for healthcare facilities and practitioners, while ensuring quality standards.
The meeting also highlighted key initiatives by the MoPH to enhance Qatar's pharmaceutical security and support cooperation with the private sector in this vital area, in addition to streamlining technical and regulatory requirements for food-handling establishments while ensuring food safety throughout the food supply chain.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors regarding health crisis and emergency management plans, as well as other important topics. (QNA)
