Cairo, September 14 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber (QC) is participating in the 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference, taking place in Cairo from Sept. 13-20.

The Chamber’s delegation is headed by HE Chairman of the Board of Directors Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani.

Organized by the Arab Labour Organisation, the annual conference convenes Ministers of Labour alongside representatives of the three tripartite production pillars—governments, employers, and workers—as well as regional and international bodies.

The conference agenda focuses on two main priorities: assessing the socio-economic impacts of climate change on the working environment and exploring the role of startups within digital transformation. Discussions will highlight how entrepreneurial ventures can drive economic diversification, lower unemployment, and foster sustainable job creation across the Arab region.

In a statement, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani emphasized that the conference serves as a pivotal platform for dialogue and collaboration among the Arab world's production pillars, helping unify regional efforts to address pressing labour market challenges.

He noted that the current phase demands stronger joint Arab action and the exchange of best practices to build more resilient, competitive labour markets capable of adapting to rapid global shifts.

He also stressed that, as a main partner in development and a key driver of investment and job creation, the Arab private sector requires stronger public-private partnerships, as well as supportive legislation and policies that foster business growth and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs across the Arab region.

His Excellency concluded by emphasizing that the Arab Labour Conference constitutes an important opportunity to produce practical visions and recommendations that respond to the current and future challenges of Arab labor markets, expressing his aspiration that the outcomes of the conference contribute to strengthening joint Arab action, supporting the partnership between the production parties, and developing work environments that stimulate production, investment, and innovation, in a way that reflects positively on Arab economies and provides more sustainable job opportunities for the people of the region.
