Doha, September 14 (QNA) - Al Sadd and Al Arabi won their opening games in the 2026-27 Qatar U-19 Basketball League, which got underway on Monday at the Qatar Basketball Federation hall.
In the first game, Al Sadd defeated Al Khor 90-35 in the opening round.
Al Sadd led in all four quarters, with scores of 35-10, 10-9, 28-9 and 17-7, earning its first two points of the competition, while Al Khor took one point.
In the second game, Al Arabi defeated Al Wakrah 74-57 in the opening round.
Al Arabi won three of the four quarters, with scores of 23-9, 21-13, 15-14 and 15-21, earning its first victory of the tournament.
The opening round will continue Sept. 21 with two games at the Qatar Basketball Federation hall, with Al Shamal facing Qatar SC and Al Ahli taking on Al Rayyan.
The second round will be played over two days. Qatar SC will face Al Wakrah on Sept. 28, followed by Al Rayyan against Al Shamal.
The second round will conclude Oct. 5 with Al Arabi facing Al Khor, followed by Al Sadd against Al Gharafa.
The third round will begin Nov. 3, with Al Wakrah facing Al Rayyan and Al Khor taking on Qatar SC.
The third round will conclude Nov. 10 with Al Gharafa facing Al Arabi and Al Shamal taking on Al Ahli.
The fourth round will be played over two days. Al Rayyan will face Al Khor on Nov. 16, while Al Ahli will take on Al Wakrah.
The fourth round will conclude Nov. 23 with Qatar SC facing Al Gharafa and Al Arabi taking on Al Sadd. (QNA)
