Qatar Foundation's BOTaina Secures Five Gold Awards at MENA Stevie Awards
Doha, September 13 (QNA) - Qatar Foundation's AI-powered digital assistant, BOTaina, has earned five Gold Awards at the 2025 MENA Stevie Awards – an achievement that highlights QF's expanding abilities in digital innovation.
BOTaina was recognized for its excellence in AI innovation, strategy, implementation, and technology development, highlighting the transformative impact of a solution designed to make information more accessible, relevant, and culturally responsive.
The awards were presented as part of one of the region's most competitive business awards programs, which attracted more than 1,400 nominations from organizations across the Middle East and North Africa. Standing out amongst strong competition, Qatar Foundation (QF) received five Gold Stevie Awards for BOTAINA, including Gold recognition across four AI-specific categories and one Technology Development category.
BOTaina received Gold Awards in five categories: Excellence in Innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Non-Profit; Excellence in Innovation in AI Products & Services – Non-Profit; Excellence in Innovation in AI Strategy & Implementation – Non-Profit; Innovation in Technology Development – Non-Profit; Innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) – Non-Profit.
In a statement, QF Digital Media and Platforms Manager, Ahmed Alkahlout, said, "Receiving five Gold Stevie Awards is a great recognition of the work that went into BOTaina and our broader ambition to use technology to create better digital experiences. For us, innovation is not just about adopting the latest technology, it is about finding practical ways to make users' experiences easier, more useful, and more meaningful. BOTaina is an important step in that journey, and this recognition gives us even more confidence to keep exploring what AI can do and how we can use it to better serve our community."
The recognition reflects BOTaina's success in demonstrating how AI can be deployed responsibly and effectively within a mission-driven organization. Developed as a multilingual, human-centered solution, BOTaina supports users by providing fast, accurate access to information while remaining aligned with local culture, language, and context. The platform exemplifies Qatar Foundation's approach to artificial intelligence – leveraging advanced technologies not only to improve efficiency, but also to create meaningful and inclusive experiences for diverse communities.
"Looking ahead, we see a lot of potential to take BOTaina further through agentic AI. Today, she helps people find information and get quick answers, but the next step is for her to do more on their behalf; helping users complete tasks, access services, make registrations, and navigate our digital platforms. We want BOTaina to move from simply answering questions to understanding what a user needs and helping them get it done. That is an exciting direction for us, and one that could make our digital experiences much simpler, more personal, and more useful." (QNA)
