Amman, September 13 (QNA) - Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued exhortations to the international community to pursue resolute action that compels Israel, as the de facto occupying power, to halt its unlawful violations against the Islamic and Christian sanctities in occupied Jerusalem.

It stressed the importance of ceasing all actions that throttle worshipers' access to Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif.

In a statement on Sunday, Official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fouad Al Majali stressed that Jordan unequivocally repudiates and strongly condemns the relentless storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist settlers.

The facilitations the Israeli occupation's police provide to carry out these incursions are a non-starter, Al Majali contended, stating that imposing restrictions on access to the Mosque flagrantly violates international law and international humanitarian law.

This is an unacceptable attempt to impose new realities on the Mosque compound and divide it in terms of spatial and temporal patterns, he pointed out.

As such, the Ministry reiterated that the whole Mosque, with its 144 dumans, is exclusively devoted to Muslims, reemphasizing that the Jerusalem Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department of the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places is the legal entity that has exclusive discretion to manage all affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque and regulate entry.

The Ministry warned of the consequences of these provocative actions, amid calls from extremist groups to ramp up incursions. It stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sacred places.

Intriguingly, 480 settlers marched into Al-Aqsa Mosque today, emerging from the Dung Gate and provocatively conducting Talmudic rituals, while the occupation forces had been stepping up military measures on the fringes of the Mosque and the Old City. (QNA)
