Doha, September 11 (QNA) - Al Shamal were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Wakrah at Al Bayt Stadium on Thursday as both sides shared the points in the fourth round of the Qatar Stars League.
Spanish defender Pablo Mari put Al Shamal ahead in the 26th minute with a header from a corner.
Al Wakrah responded just before half-time when Tunisia international Aissa Laidouni followed up on a rebound to level the score.
Al Wakrah grew stronger after the break and created several chances, but goalkeeper Babacar Seck kept Al Shamal in the game.
The result leaves Al Shamal second on eight points, while Al Wakrah move to two points and 10th place provisionally.
Al Shamal's Baghdad Bounedjah was shown a red card after the final whistle for protesting with the referee. (QNA)
