Berlin, September 09 (QNA) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed his belief that Russia was currently not willing to enter negotiations with Ukraine on reaching a peaceful settlement.
Speaking after his meeting on Wednesday with European Council President Antonio Costa, Merz stated that they have very little indication of any willingness by the Russian government or President Vladimir Putin to enter into serious talks regarding ending the war.
He explained that Germany continues to exert all efforts and use all means to achieve a diplomatic solution, though he added that as long as the Russian side remains closed off, the chances of achieving this goal will remain limited for the time being. (QNA)
