Syrian Interior Ministry Announces Arrest of ISIS Cell in Quneitra
Damascus, August 09 (QNA) - The Syrian Ministry of Interior said it arrested up a nine-person ISIS cell in the town of Khan Arnabeh in Quneitra, southern Syria.
A statement by the Ministry Sunday clarified that preliminary investigations demonstrated that the cell was preparing to carry out ISIS missions, which included collecting weapons, funneling explosive devices and their components, along with other activities that support the organization's movements.
The cell members were referred to the relevant authorities for further investigations and legal action, the statement continued.
On Friday, Syrian Internal Security Forces announced that they had taken out two ISIS militants while they were attempting to plant an explosive device in one of the areas in the Damascus countryside, as security personnel were conducting night patrols on roads leading to government barracks and centers in the area.
