Ramallah, August 08 (QNA) - A Palestinian human rights organization announced that it documented 1,666 violations by the Israeli occupation and its settlers against Bedouin communities in the occupied West Bank during July.
The Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin and Village Rights in the West Bank explained in a report published today that this figure demonstrates the expanding scope of military and settlement measures targeting Bedouin communities scattered throughout the Jordan Valley, the eastern highlands, the Jerusalem area, and the central and southern West Bank.
The organization stated that the nature of the violations indicates a clear integration between military, security, settlement, and economic tools, making them part of a systematic policy aimed at reducing the Palestinian presence in Area C and strengthening Israeli control over areas that constitute the geographical expansion of future settlement projects.
The report documented 472 settler attacks, representing approximately 28 percent of all documented violations last month, confirming that settler violence has become a major tool of pressure against Palestinians.
The organization also documented 152 shooting incidents targeting Palestinians and Bedouin communities during July, an indicator reflecting the widespread use of armed force in managing relations with the Palestinian population. In addition, 16 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including a woman and three children, one of whom was a four-month-old infant. The infant died after Israeli forces prevented his family from taking him to the hospital through a military checkpoint near the village of Deir Ammar, west of Ramallah.
The report showed that the violations targeted not only the population but also focused significantly on the economic infrastructure upon which Bedouin communities depend. It documented repeated cases of land confiscation, destruction of agricultural and economic facilities, theft of money during raids, livestock theft, and denial of access to grazing lands. (QNA)
