Kuwait, August 08 (QNA) - The State of Kuwait has strongly condemned and denounced the Iranian attack targeting an UAE-flagged tanker belonging to ADNOC while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement issued Saturday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a flagrant violation of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, as well as a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.
The statement stressed the need for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions and for compliance with the rules of international law that guarantee freedom of navigation. 
It also reaffirmed Kuwait's rejection of any attack on the security and safety of maritime navigation, while expressing its full support for the United Arab Emirates and backing all measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its security and interests. (QNA)
