Gaza, August 06 (QNA) - The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip announced on Thursday that Israeli occupation forces committed 4,091 violations of the ceasefire agreement over a 300-day period, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,254 Palestinians and injuries to 4,121 others. It described the violations as a systematic escalation and a continued breach of the agreed terms.
In a statement, the office noted that the violations extended beyond direct military attacks to include severe restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and obstacles to travel into and out of the Gaza Strip, further worsening the already dire humanitarian and living conditions. The statement added that 159 Palestinians were arrested during the ceasefire period, describing the arrests as further evidence of continued actions by the occupation that undermine the truce and adversely affect civilians.
On humanitarian aid, the office said only 63,094 aid trucks had entered the Gaza Strip out of the 180,000 trucks expected to have entered so far, representing a compliance rate of no more than 35 percent, reflecting what it described as a significant gap between commitments and implementation.
Regarding travel, the office said the occupation authorities had allowed 10,703 people to leave the Gaza Strip through Rafah crossing out of 27,400 who were expected to be permitted to travel, representing a compliance rate of 39 percent. It said the restrictions have limited patients, the wounded, and students from meeting their essential needs outside the Strip.
The Government Media Office condemned what it described as the policy of systematic targeting and the continued killing of Palestinians, holding the occupation fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
It also called on the mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to intensify pressure to ensure the implementation of all provisions of the agreement and bring the ongoing violations to an end. (QNA)
