Football: Real Madrid Sign Yan Diomande in Record Deal
Madrid, August 06 (QNA) - Real Madrid announced today the signing of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from Germany's RB Leipzig on a contract running to 2033.
In a statement, Real Madrid said it had reached an agreement with Leipzig for the transfer of Diomande, who will be tied to the club for the next seven seasons.
Spanish media reported that the deal is worth around 140 million euros ($161 million), including bonuses, which would make the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international the most expensive player in the history of both Real Madrid and African football.
Diomande joined Leipzig in the summer of 2025 from Spanish side Leganes and enjoyed an outstanding campaign last season, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists in the Bundesliga, while also winning the Best Young Player award.
The Ivorian becomes Real Madrid's sixth signing of the current transfer window, following the arrivals of Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva, Spanish full-back Marc Cucurella, French defender Ibrahima Konate, Dutch full-back Denzel Dumfries, and Spanish forward Carlos Espe. (QNA)
