Kyiv, August 29 (QNA) - The death toll from the Russian offensive on a depot in Kyiv earlier Saturday rose to 37, according to the Ukrainian National News Agency (Ukrinform), citing Kyiv Regional State Administration head Tymur Tkachenko.
Tkachenko added that rescuers and all relevant entities are operating at the targeted site. Earlier today, he announced that as many as 27 people had been killed and 42 others injured following a Russian drone attack late overnight.
He stated that more than 380 people were evacuated from the site of the attack in Bucha district, without providing further details.
For his part, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a post on X that the Russian strike caused an explosion and severely damaged nearby infrastructure, including residential buildings and a care facility for the elderly.
The attack comes amid heightened military escalation between Russia and Ukraine, including exchanges of strikes involving one-way attack drones and missiles, concurrently with ongoing international efforts to reach a settlement that would end the war. (QNA)
