Doha, August 27 (QNA) - Al Shamal defeated Al Gharafa 3-1 on Thursday at Khalifa International Stadium in Week 2 of the 2026-2027 Doha Bank Stars League.
Fabricio Diaz put Al Gharafa ahead in the 52nd minute, before Mohammed Omar equalized for Al Shamal four minutes later.
Ali Assad scored Al Shamal's second in the first minute of stoppage time, while Baghdad Bounedjah sealed the victory with a third goal in the eighth minute of added time.
The result lifted Al Shamal to four points and temporarily to the top of the standings, while Al Gharafa remained on three points in fifth place.
The victory marks Al Shamal's first of the season after drawing 2-2 with Al Arabi in the opening round, while Al Gharafa suffered their first defeat after beating Al Shahaniya 2-1 in their opening match. (QNA)
