Doha, August 27 (QNA) - Al Ahli coach Borja Jimenez and Lusail assistant coach Ashkan Dejagah spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 2 match, slated for Friday.
Al Ahli Coach Borja Jimenez said: "I view the match with utmost importance due to its significant impact on the team's morale and their continued good performance. The team did not play badly against Al Sadd despite the loss, but certain circumstances prevented us from achieving the desired result."
"I have been working on addressing the team's mistakes and improving their performance in order to win against Lusail. Al Ahli will play with full seriousness to secure the points," he added.
For his part, Lusail assistant coach Ashkan Dejagah said: "The team is preparing well for the upcoming Al Ahli match and Lusail will be psychologically and physically ready for this encounter. The team performed well in the previous match despite losing 0-1 especially against a strong team like Al Rayyan."
He added: "The results of the first round of Doha Bank Stars League showed how strong and close the competition is in the league, so we understand the importance of being fully prepared for a tough match against Al Ahli." (QNA)
