Amman, August 24, 2026 (QNA) - The Qatar U-19 handball team advanced to the quarter-finals of the 11th Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship, after securing their fourth consecutive victory with a commanding 42-29 win over Syria today in their final Group B match.
The victory took Qatar's tally to eight points, putting them at the top of Group B with a perfect record.
Qatar opened their campaign with a 30-22 victory over Saudi Arabia in the first round, before defeating Kuwait 30-19 in the second round. They then edged Iran 24-22 in the third round, followed by today's emphatic victory over Syria.
The Qatari side will now look to maintain their winning momentum and challenge for the championship title, in a campaign that reflects the continued development of Qatari handball and its strong presence on the Asian stage. (QNA)
