Qatar Junior Open Squash Championship to Begin Tomorrow
Doha, August 24 (QNA) - The 2026 Qatar Junior Open Squash Championship will begin on Tuesday, organized by the Qatar Squash Federation under the umbrella of the Asian Squash Federation at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex over three days, with the participation of promising players from Qatar and a number of countries.
The championship will feature four age categories: Under-17, Under-15, Under-13 and Under-11.
Championship Director Saad Al Muhannadi said that through organizing the championship, the Qatar Squash Federation seeks to develop young Qatari players and provide them with more experience.
He added that they are keen to provide as much exposure to competition as possible, because preparing and developing players requires continuity in playing matches and competing against opponents from different levels and schools.
The championship director noted that the objective goes beyond achieving results in a single tournament to preparing a generation of players capable of developing and competing, representing Qatar in upcoming events, as well as increasing the popularity of the sport locally. (QNA)
