Doha, August 23 (QNA) - Qatar Foundation's (QF) Academic Bridge Program (ABP), part of Pre-University Education (PUE), has received full accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC), becoming the first educational institution in Qatar to receive this accreditation as a Supplementary Education Center.
In a statement on Sunday, QF said the accreditation followed a comprehensive evaluation process that included in-depth self-study and an initial visit by a team of experienced educators, who assessed ABP against the standards for Supplementary Education Centers, with a focus on the quality of student learning and well-being.
QF stressed the accreditation represents an important step in ABP's journey to further strengthen academic and educational quality assurance through an ongoing process of self-evaluation, periodic review, and evidence-based improvement.
Abeer Al Khalifa, President of QF's Pre-University Education (PUE), said: "This accreditation reflects Qatar Foundation's enduring commitment to excellence in education and the shared dedication across our Pre-University Education ecosystem to empowering students to achieve their fullest potential."
"ABP's attainment of this accreditation is a significant milestone that recognizes the dedication of its leadership, faculty, and staff, as well as the quality and rigor of the learning experience it provides. We are immensely proud of this achievement, which reinforces ABP’s role in preparing students for success in higher education and beyond and will continue to benefit generations of learners in Qatar and beyond," she added.
Dr. Saheim Al Temimi, ABP Director, said: "Achieving this accreditation represents a significant milestone for ABP and recognition of our commitment to excellence in education. It also reflects the dedication and efforts of our faculty, administrative staff, and all stakeholders in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, student success, and academic quality."
"As we celebrate this achievement, we look forward to building on it and continuing to provide high-quality educational experiences that prepare our students for success at university, empower them to achieve their aspirations, and enable them to contribute meaningfully to their communities," he added.
Alana Steward, International Consultant at WASC, said: "WASC is proud to welcome ABP as a member of its community of Supplementary Education Centers. With its focus on student learning and well-being, ABP provides its students with distinctive pathways to university education and prepares them for success beyond graduation."
The evaluation committee's initial visit report highlighted several ABP's key strengths, including the clarity of its vision and mission in preparing students for a successful transition to university education and future careers, as well as positive student outcomes, including university acceptance rates and academic progress.
The committee also commended ABP's collaborative leadership approach and student-centered culture, built on strong relationships and individualized academic support, as well as its partnerships with local and international universities.
The report further highlighted ABP's data-driven approach to review and evaluation, its commitment to professional development and continuous improvement, and its comprehensive support system, which contributes to a positive learning environment for students, faculty, and administrative staff.  (QNA)
