Russian Military Announces Targeting Energy, Transport Facilities Supporting Ukrainian Forces
Moscow, August 22 (QNA) - The Russian Army launched a large-scale strike targeting energy and transport infrastructure facilities supporting Ukrainian forces in the capital, Kyiv.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement today that its forces conducted an airstrike last night using long-range precision-guided munitions launched from land, along with drones, on the Darnytsia locomotive depot, a key facility on the southwestern Ukrainian railway line, in Kyiv.
The statement added that the strike also targeted military equipment depots and fuel and lubricant storage tanks belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the ports of Chornomorsk and Yuzhny.
It said that the strike damaged the Provari Logistics Center, a large sorting facility belonging to Novaya Pochta, where components and finished goods for long and medium-range fixed-wing drones are stored.
There has been no comment from the Ukrainian side regarding the Russian statement so far.
In recent weeks, Russian and Ukrainian attacks targeting infrastructure and energy facilities have escalated, amid faltering US-led mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire and create conditions for a return to the negotiating table. (QNA)
