Doha, August 22 (QNA) - Al Duhail opened their Doha Bank Stars League campaign with a 2-0 victory over Al Sailiya at Al-Bayt Stadium on Saturday.
Edmilson Junior scored twice (62nd and 66th minute) for Al Duhail, giving his team their first three points in the competition.
The first half ended goalless despite Al Duhail enjoying the greater share of possession and dictating much of the play. Their dominance, however, did not translate into a breakthrough, as Al Sailiya stayed compact, defended with discipline, and kept a clean sheet.
Both teams continued to create openings, but the scoreline remained unchanged as Al Duhail saw out the win and began their campaign with a valuable three points. (QNA)
