Seoul, Washington, Tokyo Discuss Response to North Korea Missile Launches
Seoul, August 21 (QNA) - South Korea, the US and Japan discussed the implications of North Korea's latest ballistic missile launches, exchanging information on the launches and possible response measures.
In a statement today, South Korea's Foreign Ministry said that senior diplomats from the three countries held intensive consultations on how to respond to the launches, pointing to the existence of a joint channel to immediately share information and assessments whenever North Korea launches ballistic missiles.
Pyongyang fired about 10 short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Thursday, coinciding with joint military drills by South Korea and the US, which North Korea has denounced as "rehearsals for a war." (QNA)
