In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Hamadi said Qatar's haul of 20 medals across various age categories was the result of the considerable efforts made by the association to develop the sport and nurture promising talent. He said the achievement reflected the continued progress of Qatari table tennis and demonstrated its ability to compete and achieve distinguished results at the regional and continental levels.
Al Hamadi said the West Asian Championships had featured strong and exciting competition, bringing together leading male and female players from the participating countries and giving the tournament a high technical standard. Despite the strength of the field, he said Qatar's national team players delivered strong performances, achieved positive results and reached the podium in numerous categories.
He said the association was proud of what Qatar's male and female players had achieved, not only because of the number of medals they won, but also because of the technical and competitive standards they demonstrated, their high morale and their determination to represent Qatar in the best possible manner.
Al Hamadi added that the spread of medals across singles, doubles and team competitions and different age groups demonstrated the continued growth of the sport's talent base in Qatar. He said the association would continue supporting male and female players and providing them with the best possible technical and preparatory conditions to help develop a generation capable of sustaining Qatar's record of achievement in the years ahead.
The Qatar Table Tennis Association president stressed that the country's ambitions extended beyond this achievement. He said Qatar would always strive for better results and hoped the performances would provide additional motivation for the players to continue working and developing. With important competitions ahead, he added that the association would continue preparing its national teams in the best possible manner so they could perform at a level befitting Qatari table tennis.
Al Hamadi noted that the next phase would be particularly important, especially with preparations underway for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games next month, and said the association was aiming for positive results at the major continental event.
He said preparations would continue in earnest because competition at the Asian Games would be different and would require the highest levels of readiness and concentration. Qatar's goal, he added, was to deliver strong performances and compete vigorously for the best possible results.
