QAF Names Six-Athlete Squad for World Athletics U20 Championships
Doha, August 02 (QNA) - Six athletes have been picked to compete at the World Athletics U20 Championships, slated to be held in Oregon, USA, from Aug. 5 to 9, the Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) said in a statement Sunday.
The roster included field athletes, namely Abdullah Al Abdullah in the pole vault, Abdulrahman Al Malki in the high jump, Abdulrahman Ibrahim in the hammer throw, and Hamad Dawi in the discus throw, alongside two track athletes: Yusuf Abdulaziz in the 400 meters and Mohammed Waheed in the 1500 meters.
The statement added that the preparations of the team's athletes have been completed to take part in this tournament, with the objective of achieving the best possible results and building on the successes of Qatari athletics at all levels.
QAF has so far organized external training camps for runners over the past months in Europe and Africa, in pursuit of enhancing their physical fitness and competing for colored medals at this tournament. (QNA)
