Doha, August 18 (QNA) - The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli airstrikes that targeted the Abu Al Duhur air base in Idlib, the Syrian Arab Republic, considering it a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a clear violation of the provisions of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Israel's continued violation of the sovereignty of the countries of the region without deterrence reveals a dangerous approach to imposing a fait accompli by force and a systematic disregard for international legitimacy. The ministry underscored that if Israel seeks to impose a new reality in its surroundings, then the international community, in turn, must deal firmly with the fact that the Israeli occupation is acting as if it is above the law, in light of international silence and inability to deter it, and must bear its responsibilities in putting an end to its violations.
The ministry warned that the absence of accountability and deterrence encourages Israel to persist in its violations, threatens security and stability, and drags the region into a wider spiral of escalation.
The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's firm stance of standing by the fraternal Syrian Arab Republic, affirming its solidarity with the Syrian government and its support for everything that would preserve Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity. (QNA)
