Doha, August 16 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) has launched the back-to-school campaign for the 2026-2027 academic year, comprising interactive activities and booths directed at both students and families.

This is alongside training workshops specifically tailored to teachers, academic leadership, as well as educational community members ahead of the kick-start of the new academic year.

A statement by MOEHE highlighted that the "First Step" initiative comes at the forefront of this campaign, which it launches for the first time this year in partnership with Rafeeq company to purposefully strengthen students' experience as they embark on their educational journey.

The initiative, the Ministry said, is designed for almost 10,700 newly enrolled first-grade students in all public schools.

As part of preparations for the new academic year, MOEHE will hold its annual educational forum on Aug. 25 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, bringing together education leaders, teachers and partners to beef up outreach and share expertise on educational priorities and thrusts for the upcoming phase.

The meeting features over 15 training workshops, alongside a panel discussion on People First: Authenticity Is Strength and Digital Transformation Is Empowerment.

The gathering manifestly addresses a range of issues related to the future of education, including the importance of maintaining people as the linchpin of the educational process and promoting identity, values and authenticity in the pedagogical climate.

This is in addition to capitalizing on digital transformation and cutting-edge technologies in supporting teachers and students, as well as upgrading the educational experience.

As part of the campaign's community engagement activities, MOEHE is renewing its partnership with Mowasalat "Karwa" through a dedicated booth at Place Vendome from Aug. 21 to 27, featuring interactive, recreational and educational activities for children and families, as well as performances on the booth stage, strengthening direct engagement with the community.

The Ministry is also participating in Al Meera's "Back-to-School" campaign, which is being held at several of its branches from Aug. 15 to Sept. 15, helping expand the campaign's reach to families and students during preparations for the new academic year.

In addition, MOEHE is also participating in events held in Msheireb from Aug. 25 to 27, showcasing educational, recreational and interactive activities catered to children and families, with the objective of strengthening engagement with families and providing an experience that combines educational value with the atmosphere surrounding the back-to-school season.

As such, the Ministry has emphasized that the back-to-school campaign aims to ensure an integrated kick-start of the new academic year, bolstering the shared responsibility towards education and partnership culture among various concerned entities, thereby helping ensure a motivated and attractive start for students.
