17 Militants Killed in Military Operations in Southwestern Pakistan
Islamabad, August 16 (QNA) - Seventeen militants were killed and several others wounded in two separate military operations in southwestern Pakistan, authorities said on Sunday.
The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported that 10 militants were killed and several others wounded during a military operation in the mountainous Shor Barood area of Khuzdar district in Balochistan province.
In a separate operation in the Lajay area of the same province, seven militants were killed and several others wounded. Security forces also uncovered a large cache of modern weapons, ammunition and other equipment, APP reported.
Local sources said security forces also seized two vehicles and a motorcycle allegedly used by the militants, while the hideouts were destroyed as part of the operation.
Balochistan, Pakistan's largest province by area, has long been a stronghold for armed groups that carry out attacks on security and military installations. (QNA)
