Egyptian, Ukrainian Presidents Discuss Regional, International Developments and Bilateral Ties
Cairo, August 14 (QNA) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed regional and international developments, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations, during a phone call on Friday.
During the call, El-Sisi highlighted Egypt's efforts to de-escalate regional tensions, stressing the importance of resolving the current crisis through peaceful means to preserve peace and stability and ensure the uninterrupted flow of international trade.
The Egyptian president also reaffirmed his country's support for a political settlement to the Russia-Ukraine crisis and expressed Egypt's readiness to provide assistance toward that goal at the earliest opportunity.
For his part, Zelenskyy said he shared El-Sisi's view on the need to reduce escalation and tensions in the Middle East. The two leaders also reviewed the latest developments in the war between Moscow and Kyiv. (QNA)
