Cairo, August 14 (QNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, who is visiting Egypt, discussed regional issues of mutual concern, particularly the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to strengthening bilateral relations.

At a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart in Egypt, Abdelatty said that their talks reaffirmed complete rejection and condemnation of all violations committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and in the Gaza Strip, as well as full rejection of any infringement on the rights of the Palestinian people alongside condemnation of settlement expansion in the West Bank.

Regarding bilateral relations, the Egyptian Foreign Minister affirmed the importance of enhancing investment cooperation between the two countries, and that it was agreed to strengthen connections between international trade corridors and intensify institutional and technical coordination to help improve regional and international supply chain efficiency.

On his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are living a tragedy, emphasizing that his country is working closely with Egypt on the Palestinian issue and Gaza to achieve peace and stop the war.

He also stressed his country's rejection of all attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands, adding that Israel's goal is to displace the Palestinian people and Gaza residents.

He highlighted the importance of implementing the second phase of the peace plan regarding Gaza, and called on the United States to pressure Israel to stick to the peace plan. (QNA)
