Football: Al Wakrah Renews Fathy's Contract to 2029
Doha, August 12 (QNA) - Al Wakrah announced that it has extended the contract of Egyptian international midfielder Hamdy Fathy, who will continue playing for the club.
In a brief statement today, the club said it had extended the Egyptian player's contract until 2029. Fathy's previous contract had been due to run until the end of the upcoming season.
Since joining Al Wakrah in the 2023-24 season, Fathi has made 73 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring six goals and providing three assists.
Fathi did not take part in Al Wakrah's pre-season training camp because of his participation with the Egyptian national team at the FIFA World Cup.
Al Wakrah will begin its Qatar league campaign for the new season against Qatar SC on Aug. 20. (QNA)
