GCC Secretary-General: Colombia’s Recognition of Israeli Sovereignty over Golan Violates International Law
Riyadh, August 11 (QNA) - Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi affirmed that Colombia's recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights violates international law and international treaties.
In a statement, Albudaiwi strongly condemned the move, stressing that recognitions contrary to international and UN resolutions are unacceptable and undermine regional peace and security.
He called on Colombia to withdraw the recognition and urged Israel to comply with international resolutions and withdraw from all occupied Arab territories, including the Golan Heights.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC's steadfast support for Syria's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and rejected any measures that undermine its sovereignty or unity. (QNA)
