Israeli Occupation Forces, Settlers Step Up Attacks on Palestinians Across West Bank
Ramallah, August 09 (QNA) - The Israeli occupation forces and settlers have continued their rampages against Palestinians and their property in several cities and areas across the occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), local sources stated that the Israeli occupation soldiers detained two young Palestinians on Sunday in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, and raided the Solomon's Pools area south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Meanwhile, the occupation forces infiltrated numerous villages in Nablus, raided multiple homes and tampered with their contents, in addition to conducting field interrogations with some Palestinians.
In Nablus, a bunch of settlers stormed the village of Beit Imrin and stole the belongings of a Palestinian. This happened simultaneously with an arson attack carried out by settlers against a Palestinian home while under the protection of the occupation forces.
The occupation soldiers shot a Palestinian who was shepherding his livestock west of Hebron, resulting in several cattle perishing due to the random shots fired by the Israeli occupation soldiers.
In Bethlehem, the occupation forces set up a military cordon at the entrance to Battir village and searched Palestinian vehicles. They also massed troops south of Bethlehem and conducted a foot patrol, while Israeli settlers rampaged against Palestinian farmers in the Eastern Plain area.
Al-Mughayyir village and the contiguous villages and towns northeast of Ramallah have been coming under relentless attacks by settlers and Israeli raids.
As such, the Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission said in a statement that the Israeli occupation soldiers and settlers carried out over 2,000 attacks against Palestinians and their lands and property.
The Commission added that the occupation forces carried out 1,458 attacks, while settlers carried out 798 attacks, noting that the assaults were concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, with 260 attacks, followed by Nablus with 247, Jenin with 190, Bethlehem with 185, and Hebron with 170.
These figures unveil an obvious interoperability between the military force tools and settler terror, as the occupation forces create an environment of protection and support, as well as an incubating condition that allows the attacks to expand and turns their results into continuous realities on the ground.
