4.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Fiji Islands
Suva, July 05 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Sunday the coast of the Fiji islands in the South Pacific Ocean.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said in a statement that the earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 531.6 km.
So far, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage resulting from the earthquake.
The Fiji Islands are located in the Ring of Fire in the Pacific Ocean, which is subject from time to time to many earthquakes that can sometimes be powerful. (QNA)
