Arab League Denounces Recurrent Assaults on Saudi Arabia and Jordan, Demands Resolute Global Action
Cairo, July 29 (QNA) - The Arab League has vigorously denounced the recurrent attacks on petroleum facilities in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province and Jordan using one-way attack drones as a perilous escalation that endangers the security and stability of the region.
It added that these actions vitiate ongoing efforts aimed at consolidating peace and stability.
In a statement on Wednesday, Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy stressed that the perpetuation of these assaults requires a resolute position from the international community to prevent their repetition, hold perpetrators accountable, and ensure that the region doesn't plunge into an open theater that imperils critical and economic facilities.
Fahmy underscored that respecting nations' sovereignty and desisting from targeting their critical facilities are pillars of safeguarding regional security and stability.
He further stressed that the security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia and Jordan are part and parcel of the Arab national security system.
He reiterated that the League supports the legitimate actions those nations take to protect their national security and territorial integrity in compliance with the provisions of international law and the UN Charter. (QNA)
