Doha, July 28 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have discussed bilateral relations and the latest regional developments during a phone call between their top diplomats.
During a conversation on Tuesday, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr Ayman Safadi, explored ways to further strengthen cooperation between their nations. They also discussed diplomatic initiatives and joint coordination to contain tensions and promote security and stability across the region.
HE Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need for all parties to adhere to diplomacy and implement the commitments outlined in the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
His Excellency said this includes ensuring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz to help safeguard regional security and preserve recent diplomatic gains.
He also reaffirmed Doha's support for efforts to ease tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement that would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region. (QNA)
